
Friday the 27th of November 2009 in Bangkok's Panthip Suite Hotel the 2nd magnificient Siam Textile Fair under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, Princess Soamsawali of Thailand, took place. It was a Thai-Laotian Fashion Show and Textile Fair. Further the European Tolerance Award, a category of the European Culture Award has been given during the event to Dr. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon out of the hands of Mrs.Promsab Bunnak, the secretary of the Royal Palace in Thailand. Dieter Topp, president of the European Culture Association, was present to hold a Laudatio and a speech to Thai-European-German friendship. Later HRH Princess Soamsawali wrote her name into the book of honor of the European Culture Association. The Princess awarded Dr. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon and his partner Wuttipong Arayatumsopon, both human rights activists and founder of the human rights organization Thai-German-Friendship association (Thailandfreunde eV) with a crystal glass plastic, for their social engagement for disabled and underprivileged people, especially children in Thailand. Dr. Dirk Weeber-Arayatumsopon also held an exhibition with antic newspapers of the King Chulalongkorn time (King Rama V) who reigned until 1910. One piece of the exhibition was presented as a special gift to Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali.
