Does anyone know how to fix a very large lead crystal bowl?

My mom has a large lead crystal bowl and a piece about two inches long got broke off of the base. It is a punchbowl on a connected pedestal. We had it repaired at the glass place but it came apart again. The bowl is brilliant cut crystal and is very beautiful. It is also very heavy!!!!

i presume that the best method would be to have a professional with a diamond tipped drill bit, drill holes in each piece, then utilize special glue and sink clear plastic pins into these holes and that would suffice

I would take it back to the glass place, simply because you paid to have it fixed and therefore it shouldn’t of come apart again. If it’s repaired correctly it should be as strong as the piece in its original state. I’m guessing you were probably being careful when handling it so maybe they did not repair it properly. Insist that they fix it right at no cost to you. Anyway, that’s what I would do.

THIS QUICK DRYING GLUE ( THE INSTANT KIND ) APPLIED TO A CLEAN DRY SURFACE SHOULD DO THE JOB—HOLD FIRMLY IN PLACE ON THE BOTTOM( UPSIDE -DOWN) FOR 15 SECONDS……APPLY TO BOTH PEICES………BUT SPARINGLY
