Trash or Treasure: Collectibles Around the Home (05/04/09)

Well this morning I thought I'd try to help you identify some of those small collectables that you find around your home. And, this 1st one is a Schnauzer, it's a nice porcelain Schnauzer figurine, which we are going to identify right here on the bottom, this is a Goebel mark it's a 1980's Goebel mark, and of course Goebel is the company...the German company that makes Hummels. Now, the book on this particular Schnauzer is probably going to be about $45 to $50 on today's market. Then moving down on the front this one doesn't look very old...and in fact it's not, but is is lead crystal though. Let me pick it up here...and we notice it has a paper label that reads "Fenton" and the original price probably from the 1980's also was $19.50. But now...let me go ahead and show you this around here on the back... right here there is an incised Fenton mark...right there. Well this particular little Fenton mark, Fenton started in 1970 or so, 1970, 1971, 1972 someplace in there...so we know that this piece is not any older than that, but still it's a nice collectible and going to sell for let's say ...not a whole lot more than the original price...maybe $25 - $30. Down here on the front we have a little Blue Bird Chick, and again another Goebel mark, right there...again a 1980's Goebel mark. These used to sell for around $20 or so, but on the current market they are only about $10. This is a nice "Grey Wolf Pup" and on the bottom when we tilt this one up we're going to find out that ...
