What is the difference between lead free crystal stemware and full lead crystal stemware? Which is better?

I am in the process of registering for my wedding and came across crystal stemware that is lead free and some have lead. I'm not sure what it actually means.

Leaded crystal reacts to acids like wine, which can minutely dissolve the lead & (technically) poison the drinker.Lead-free is safer.Unless you plan on drinking wine out if these glasses everyday, then I’d get whatever pattern you like. If your pattern comes in both leaded & lead-free, then I’d get lead-free just to be on the safe eide.
