I love this – but would crop a bit off the top. See my note. A really interesting treatment of the subject.

It does fit the theme well, I agree with Bobbies crop, and also I think the highlights could do with brightening up a bit to really make it sparkle.

    Hi Richard,
For me this has not quite come off. I agree with Bobbie and Gayle and I also find the minor highlights towards the top right slightly distracting. Having said all that I do like this sort of approach – of seeing the extra-ordinary in the ordinary, and I’d love too see some more. You’ve clearly got an eye for it – there are some really well seen shots in your photostream.

See, I’m not the only one who thinks you have an eye for the unusual ! Whilst it is well seen, I do think it could be improved with more light, crop etc. Why don’t you have another go ’cause I don’t think you’re far off a really good image. Thanks for getting the theme shots going.

Although this image doesn’t exactly work for me, I agree with Mike your approach of making something extra ordinary from the ordinary does work well – let’s some more – I know you have them!

thanks for all the comments. all very sound advice. i’ve learnt a lot since i took this last february – so i’ll most definitely be giving it another go this month. whilst in my sick bed last night I dreamt up some different angles…
